摘 要 朗读训练在学生英语学习中的作用是巨大的.它不仅可以训练学生对字、词、句的发音,对文章快慢、轻重、停连、语调的掌握,还能帮助学生记忆大量的词汇和段落,能培养学生的语感,深入体味文章内涵的能力,从而达到使学生热爱英语、实践英语的目的.

Abstract The role of reading training in the English language learning is enormous. It can not only train students to word, sentence pronunciation, speed of the article, the severity, even stop, the tone of the master, but also to help students remember a lot of words and paragraphs, to students of a sense of language, the ability to thoroughly appreciate the article content to achieve the purpose that students love the English language and practice English.

1.强调汉英语音、节奏之差异

大多数学生开始学英语时,已基本上掌握了汉语声调语言,字的每个音节都有特定的声调,而且声调起着区别和改变词义的重要作用.然而英语是语调语言,没有固定的词调.词中音节声调高低没有区别词义的作用,它们要服从全句的语调.例如,kite这个词,随便你念成平调、升调、升降调、降升调或降调,它的意思不会改变,依旧是“风筝”,不会变成别的东西.

节奏指语句中各音节的轻重、长短和快慢之间的关系.包括重音、时间和连续.英语讲究轻重音节的搭配.英语多音节词或语句,总是以重音为骨干,以轻音为陪衬,而重音与轻音又是交替出现的.如果一句话中出现了几个重音,那么各个重音之间的时间间隔要大致保持相等.为了保持这种时间间隔的相等,说话或朗读时,就得采用各种方法来调整.首先,要注意各个音节之间的轻音节数目.轻音节少就可以念得慢点,轻音节多就必须念得快些.如:It’s′half past′one. It’s a′quarter e′leven.第一句话有4个音节,第二句话有8个音节.但因为这两句话都各有两个重音,按照英语的发音规则,说这两句话所占用的时间是基本上相等的,每句话各占两拍.学生对英语语音这一重要特点较难掌握.他们受汉语语言节奏的影响,读英语时,每个音节发音长短一致,每个词都清清楚楚地念出来.因而,朗读和说话都不大像英语.本族主为英语的人有时甚至会认为这种说话方式非常生硬、没有礼貌.其次,要注意连读.连读是指在一个意群中,前一个词以辅音结尾,后一个词以元音开头,讲话时,讲话人会从一个词滑向另一个词.最后,要注意汉英重读的差异.例如他们会把“I’m a′teacher” 读成“I′am′a′teacher”.为了使学生将英语尽量说得具有洋味,不再说母音浓重的Chinglish.应当注意培养学生正确的语调习惯和英语语言的节奏感.

2.讲究朗读技巧

朗读是英语课堂教学的一个重要组成部分,是学生学好英语的奠基石.如果只是机械地朗读,教师劳累,学生疲倦,收效甚微,而且整个课堂也没有活力.教师在教学生朗读句子时要讲究朗读方法.

(1)在朗读短句时,开始几遍可以放慢速度,待学生初步熟悉后,可让学生加速,增加学生朗读难度,用不同的重音、语调去读同一个句子,表示不同的情感和语气,如重音、升调、降调,使整个课堂气氛充满生机与活力.

A、句子重音.在连贯的语句中,一般情况下:实词:名词、代词、形容词、副词、数词、动词要重读.虚词:冠词、连词、介词不需要重读.少数动词(be动词、助动词、情态动词)和许多代词(人称、代词、物主代词) 在句子中也不需要重读.但在句末的be动词、情态动词和助动词要重读.请看给下列句子的重音:

①She′ stays in a ′house near ′here.

②I’m ′cleaning the ′windows.

③′ What ′time do you ′he ′lunch

④Are they′ playing football Y′es, they ′are.

⑤Can I ′he my ′pen back ′Yes, you ′can.

⑥Do you ′he any ′color pencils ′ No, I ′don’t.

B、语调.英语的基本语调有两种:降调和升调.

降调:句子末尾语调下降的叫降调.陈述句 、祈使句、感叹句、特殊疑问句、选择问句均用降调.请看下列例子:

①I he 'dinner at half past 'seven 'every 'night. 陈述句(用降调)

②'Who is your 'good friend in 'school 特殊问句(用降调)

③Do you 'go to 'school by 'bus or on 'foot 选择问句(用降调)

④'What a 'wonderful 'party we had 'lastnight! 感叹句(用降调)

升调:句子末尾语调上升的叫升调.一般疑问句、选择疑问句or前部分、主句前的从句、主语前的状语、并列成分and前部分、表示道歉和请求的句子均用升调.请看下列例子:

①Do you 'like singing

②Would you 'like a 'cup of tea or a 'glass of milk

③When she 'learned that, she was 'very ' sad and 'started to 'cry.

④At the 'weekend, I 'stay at home and 'do my 'homework.

⑤I 'can’t 'help you 'this evening.

⑥I 'beg your pardon.

(2)朗读长句时,化整为零,化零为整.将一个长句分为若干个意群,该停顿的地方停顿,待各意群读熟了以后再读整个句子.在说话或朗读时,意群与意群之间可以有一定的停顿,但在同一意群的各个词之间则不可停顿,以使整个意群的意思不致中断.培养正确的停顿习惯是提高朗读水平的重要技能之一.如:In the United States / in the early nieenth century, Dolly Madison, the wife of the fourth American President, anized an egg roll / in Washington D. C. She had been told / that Egyptian children / used to roll eggs / against the pyramids / so she invited the children of Washington / to roll the hard-boiled eggs / down the hilly lawn / of the new Capitol building.


什么叫意群呢?人们讲话时,为了使意思表达得更加清楚,通常需要把一个句子按照其意义和语法结构分成几个部分.每个部分由一组词构成来表达一种意思.这样的一组词称为一个意群(sense group).人们用停顿和升降调来标志意群的结尾.意群可以用“|”或“/”这一符号来表示. 如: We three / are all good students / in school.

意群划分规律:意群是根据意义、语法和语调这三个因素来划分的.从语义、语法上讲意群必须是能够表达某种意思的一个词、一组词、一个短语、一个从句或主句.从语调来说,意群必须是可以用降调、升调来朗读的一个语调单位.如: At the 'weekend,| I 'stay at home| and 'do my 'homework.| 这一句话根据句中所包含的三个意义单位、三个语法单位及语调单位可分成三个意群,见下表:

请看下列句子的意群划分:

①There are / five people / in my family.

②Yesterday / Tom and Kate / played games.

③Go down this road / and turn left / at the second crossing.

④She suddenly remember / that she had to buy / some DVDs / for her son.

讲究朗读技巧的同时,教师也要培养学生持之以恒的学习兴趣,是学好英语的关键,让学生在朗读中体会兴趣,引发乐趣,肯磨嘴皮,肯下功夫,并能说出流利的“英文”,喜欢说“洋话”.

3.朗读与口腔肌肉训练

以上所讲述的句子重音、停顿、意群、语调都是英语朗读的重要组成部分.是在朗读英语时必须注意掌握的朗读技巧.英语朗读的学习和掌握需要刻苦地练习和大量的模仿.

如果注意观察外国人说汉语,你就会发现他们咬字吐音很吃力,舌头不听使唤,发出的音调生硬别扭,先凭听觉就知道不是本国人,而他们说起英语来则如行云流水,朗朗上口.由此可见语感与口腔肌肉训练密切相关.有些人不喜欢念出声,常以默读代替朗读,严重缺乏口腔肌肉训练,难怪有些人说出的英语缺乏一种味道,不像那么回事.实际上,这由于口腔肌和大脑思维不能协调配合而导致语音、语调、节奏和语义不能自然结合的语感效果.教师在给初学者上语音课时,都要给他们剖析每一个语音的口腔部位,并告诉他们,如果口腔部位做准确了,所发出的语音就是准确的.那么,掌握了准确的发音要领,就形成了语感了吗?不,语感并非体现在单个的发音要领上,它是语音、语调、节奏和语言能力的综合体现.有人早就总结出,学英语要“用嘴努力”,“从嘴突破”.如果强化训练舌部肌肉,坚持以快速、高声、清晰的方式来多读多说,久而久之,口腔就会自然适应一系列英语语音语调,从而产生出语感效应.我们可以来试一下怎样朗读以下两篇文章:

California is the third largest state in the USA but has the largest population. It also has the distinction of being the most multicultural state in the USA, hing attracted people from all over the world. The customs and languages of the immigrants live on in their new home. This diversity of culture is not surprising when you know the history of California.


Exactly when the first arrived in what we know as California, no one really knows. However, it is likely that Native Americans were living in California at least fifteen thousand years ago. Scientists believe that these settlers crossed the Bering Strait in the Arctic to America by means of a land bridge which existed in prehistoric times. In the 16th century, after the arrival of the Europeans, the native people suffered greatly. Thousands were killed or forced into slery. In addition, many died from the diseases brought by the Europeans. However, some survived these terrible times, and today there are more Native Americans living in California than in any other state.

In the United States in the early nieenth century, Dolly Madison, the wife of the fourth American President, anized an egg roll in Washington D. C. She had been told that Egyptian children /used to roll eggs against the pyramids so she invited the children of Washington to roll the hard-boiled eggs down the hilly lawn / of the new Capitol building. The custom continued, except for the years during the Civil War. In 1880, the First Lady invited children to the White House for the Egg Roll because officials had plained that they were ruining the Capitol lawn. It has been held there / ever since then, only canceled during times of war. The event has grown, and today Easter Monday / is the only day of the year / when tourist are allowed / to wander over the White House lawn. The wife of the President / sponsors it / for the children of the entire country. The egg rolling event / is open to children twelve years old and under. Adults are allowed / only when acpanied by children.
